Q: I’ve amassed a pretty decent-sized collection of skincare products. Is it OK to “layer on” more than one treatment at a time? What’s the right order?
MyChelle Dermaceuticals licensed esthetician Catie Wiggy responds:
Skincare success depends not only on using the right products for your skin type, but also on how you apply them. Knowing the correct order””and frequency””for daily application can make a big difference in your overall results. I recommend using high-quality MyChelle products and following these simple steps.
Step 1: Cleanse
Cleansing should always be the first step in your skincare routine, both in the morning and at night. MyChelle cleansers are sulfate free and gently exfoliate and refresh skin. Choose from targeted formulas including Fruit Enzyme and Clear Skin, or try Unscented Honeydew Cleanser.
Step 2: Treatments
Applying a mask peel or scrub treatment one to three times a week will drive ultimate results. A gentle peel, or skin exfoliant, eliminates dead skin cells while supporting proper skin respiration. A mask enhanced with fruit enzymes and minerals provides both gentle exfoliation and hydration. Try a detoxifying mud mask to draw out impurities and provide a rich antioxidant boost.
Step 4: Mist
Spray hydrating mist onto your face to rebalance skin’s natural pH, maintain hydration, refine skin pores and fight inflammation. (Tip: Mist can also be used to set makeup!)
Step 5: Nourish
Both morning and evening use our natural, nontoxic, nourishing creams to improve and replenish natural moisture balance. MyChelle creams also help fight inflammation and the signs of premature aging.
Step 6: Sun Protection
Finally, apply MyChelle Sun Shield SPF 28, which is nontoxic, moisture-preserving and mineral-based. It also provides both UVA and UVB skin protection to help prevent aging.
