I love all kinds of natural beauty products–whether we’re talking about the latest organic mascara or a makeup remover that will remove all traces of my carefully-applied “day face” in one fell swoop. But the kinds of products nearest and dearest to my heart are anti-aging products. Because, my friends, I’m not a kid anymore. But that doesn’t mean I don’t mind getting carded by that fresh-faced cashier. (Who’d better think twice before he calls me, “ma’am!”)
Here are my tips for looking “young for your age”:
- Prevent premature damage and unsightly age spots and discoloration by applying sunscreen daily. If you haven’t tried DeVita’s protective moisturizer yet, which has an SPF of 30, you’re in for a treat. It’s so lightweight! Of course, many of our customers rave about Alba Botanica’s Hawaiian Green Tea Natural Sunblock, which has an SPF of 45 and smells pleasantly like a tropical beach party. It’s high-end stuff.
- Repair the visible signs of aging with an antioxidant-rich cream or nutrient-infused serum. With age comes wisdom–and also, unfortunately, age spots. Earth Science Ginsium-C Skin Lightening Creme is one of our most popular products for reducing the appearance of those “wisdom freckles.” One serum I can’t say enough great things about is MyChelle’s Ultra Hyalronic Hydrating Serum, which restores natural moisture. Meanwhile, if it’s more firmness you seek, Avalon Organics Renewal Facial Creme with Vitamin C contains a lipo-filling complex for serious results.
- Restore the radiance of youth with gentle exfoliation (at least twice a week–I like Kiss My Face’s Start Up Exfoliating Face Wash) and age-defying hydration (daily), like Anne Marie Borlind’s Hydro Stimulant Day Cream in Rose Dew, which really does a great job tackling wrinkles and increasing moisture and firmness
