Five Foods for Fabulous Skin and Hair

You do all you can to maintain glowing skin and shiny hair. You use natural shampoo infused with nourishing botanical extracts, a moisturizer with added antioxidants – and the list goes on. But what about what you put in your body?

You are what you eat – so here’s a list of five skin and hair-friendly foods to add your daily diet:

Oatmeal: You know beauty sleep is important. How about a beauty-bowl-of-oatmeal? This breakfast staple is a great source of whole grains, which provide your hair and scalp with much-needed zinc.

Strawberries: Want beautiful skin? Grab some strawberries. They’re rich in vitamin C, which helps promote collagen production and provides protection from sun damage.

Salmon: Swimming with omega-3 essential fatty acids and vitamin B12, salmon offers a delicious way to keep hair healthy and well-hydrated.

Sweet Potatoes: Refresh your skin with beautifying beta-carotene (vitamin A),   found in abundance in orange veggies such as sweet potatoes. Beta-carotene helps generate new skin cells and protects existing cells from free radical damage.

Avocados: Get beautiful at your backyard BBQ by whipping up a bowl of guacamole! Avocados contain several important nutrients that can promote healthy skin, including vitamin E,   B vitamins, healthy fats and fiber.
