Q. Topical Vitamin C is supposed to be a great anti-aging solution. Is there a particular concentration or percentage I should look for in products?
MyChelle Dermaceuticals licensed esthetician Catie Wiggy responds:
Topical vitamin C is one of the best anti-aging ingredients and everyone can benefit from using it! Be sure to select the L-Ascorbic acid version of vitamin C as it is chirally correct and better absorbed by the skin. Additionally, you want to look for concentrations of 10% or higher to get all of the wonderful benefits vitamin C offers. Lastly, you want to make sure your topical vitamin C is always formulated with other great antioxidants.
The MyChelle Perfect C Serum truly is perfect because we use the L-Ascorbic acid form of vitamin C at a concentration on 17%””almost double what most other products contain. We also load our Perfect C Serum with L-Ergothioneine to boost cellular energy and help interrupt the stress reaction that destroys elastin. Our latest updated to the Perfect C Serum includes the addition of Buddleja plant stem cells to protect your skin from free radical damage.
