Happy February! I love this month because we get to celebrate all the things so near and dear to our hearts. But to really be able to give love, you have to love yourself first ““ every bit of you. From head to toe, your body deserves to be celebrated. All it takes is a little TLC and absolutely zero trash-talking!
Let’s start from the top. Your hair is your “crowning” glory and should always look worthy of a queen-style headpiece. So say this out loud: I love my hair, because [fill in the blank]. Choose a few features you truly like about your hair. For example, I’d complete the thought like this: I love my hair, because it’s healthy, shiny and strong.
Regardless of whether your hair is thin, thick, wiry or soft, taking care of your luscious locks can be so easy. Start with this two-step hair-care system, and it won’t take long to become second nature.
Step 1: Go straight to the source by nourishing from the inside out with a quality multivitamin. Choose a potent formula specifically designed to support strong hair. Vitacost Ultra Hair Formula with MSM & B Vitamins provides components of the protein keratin, silicon which is found in the outer shaft of strands and water-soluble B vitamins responsible for cellular energy production.*
Step 2: Condition your hair after every wash. It may seem excessive, but your strands and scalp need moisture ““ especially during the colder, drier months. A leave-in conditioner like Giovanni Direct Leave-In makes combing and styling in the morning a cinch, because it detangles while hydrating and building body. I like Giovanni for its organic botanicals that don’t feel heavy in my hair.
I’ve mentioned before that I do a deep conditioning treatment once a week. I can’t tell you how much of a difference you will see from only five minutes of “work” each week. And it’s really not work, especially with my favorite Earth Science Olive and Avocado Deep Conditioning Masque. Simply wash hair normally, squeeze out any excess water and spread the masque all throughout your tresses ““ from root to tips.
For everyday moisture, I like Dr. Bronner’s Organic Hair Creme in Lavender Coconut. It doubles as a styling cream, holding hair in place while giving it a silky-soft texture. Plus, it’s completely natural and Dr. Bronner’s doesn’t test on animals. See? Love all around!
