Skincare Treatments: Are You Overdoing It?

Q: How often should I use facial treatments?

MyChelle Dermaceuticals licensed esthetician Catie Wiggy responds:

One of the best ways to take care of your complexion is to regularly use facial treatments, such as masks and exfoliants. But you don’t want to use them too often, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Most treatments can be safely used twice or three times per week. I love to start off my week using MyChelle Tropical Skin Smoother. This nutrient-packed skin exfoliator helps remove dead cell buildup that can give skin a dull, flaky appearance, while also providing moisture with nourishing, antioxidant-rich coconut oil.

Mid week, I’ll apply the Hydrating Cactus Mask to boost hydration, ease inflammation and restore smoothness to my skin. This potent hydrating mask not only offers moisture-binding properties, it contains uplifting aromatherapeutic essential oils to calm the senses.

By the weekend, it’s time for an at-home facial. I like to use the Tropical Skin Smoother first, then rinse and apply the Hydrating Cactus Mask immediately afterward. This back-to-back treatment leaves your skin feeling silky soft and looking radiant. I highly recommend this combo for any skin type””especially during colder seasons!
