A plant-derived sugar like agave will enhance the natural sweetness of the berries without any added guilt or gunk.

2 cups mixed frozen berries
2 Tbsp. water
1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice, or juice from ½ lemon
1 Tbsp. honey or agave (more if you want it sweeter)

1. Throw berries, juice and honey into a skillet and heat on high for a couple minutes.

2. When it starts sizzling, add water, lower to medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes or so.

Keep it chunky or macerate the berries for a smoother texture.
