Décor doesn’t need to be drab or expensive ““ in fact, all it takes is a little creativity and some upcycling to turn everyday items into unique, chic items that will compliment any room. Go a little green this spring and bring nature indoors with a super-simple decorative jar garden.
- Recycled glass jar(s)
- Paint (your choice!)
- Potting soil
- Handful of stones
- Succulents or seeds of choice
If needed, remove label from recycled glass jar and wash under warm water with soap, scrubbing until all paper and glue is gone.
Break out the paint. Pick your favorite colors and get to it, paint the outside of the jar (including the rim and bottom). Let the paint dry overnight and then paint the inside of the jar if desired. Let the jar dry overnight.
Fill your jar with soil, about 3/4 full, and pat soil down firmly. Place succulent (or your favorite seeds) in soil and surround with dirt. Pat down soil firmly and place small stones around the top of succulent (leave out stones if planting seeds).
