I just had a baby. Can you go away, please?

I had a terrible time getting back in the swing of things after having kids. My body changed so much, I felt uncomfortable unveiling the new version to my husband. Additionally, postpartum hormones and breastfeeding wreaked havoc on my libido. I had to work at feeling sexy again.

Lots of couples-only time spent reconnecting with my husband was an important part of that rekindling. And wine. Wine helped a lot. Anyone want to share tips on how they got their groove back?

    I remember feeling especially un-sexy. In addition to leaking and aching, I was really SWEATY post-partum. It’s hard for me to feel like a ravishing sex kitten when I’m sweating like a pig. I don’t really remember how I got past this phase, but we did eventually have two more kids, so I guess I did! I also believe in the power of wine. :-P

    I felt the same way too. I remember feeling like I had on a Mrs. Doubtfire suit after having my twin boys. The leaking, sweating, bleeding.. none of it helped the situation. What did help? Wine & and dim lighting in the bedroom. I eventually started to feel better when I got more rest and could go to the gym. At least I felt like I was doing something to improve my body image which helped a great deal in feeling sexy and confident again. I knew my husband didn’t care, but I did.

    Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one with the sweating issue. The gym definitely helped. Amazing how men don’t mind if we look and feel like Mrs. Doubtfire, though!
