Q. What is a “detox cleanse”? Does it really help you lose weight?
A. After a season of Thanksgiving pie, Christmas ham and let’s not forget New Year’s Eve champagne, many of our customers are looking for a “quick fix” to shed those extra pounds””along with the toxin build-up that we typically acquire from all of this decadence. A detox cleanse usually includes a supplement regimen and is intended to hit the “reset” button on your eating habits. After completing the recommended course, you likely will have rid yourself of junk food cravings”¦ and some weight, too.*
The weight loss is partially from the actual cleansing products themselves (which might cause you to spend a lot of quality time in the bathroom.) It’s also from the leaner, lighter food you should be eating. Word to the wise: once you’ve finished the cleanse, keep on eating healthy fare and working out, or your scale will bounce right back to its pre-cleanse weight! The good news is, you will have developed some healthy habits by that point and those butter cookies you wolfed down in December likely won’t have the same appeal after you’ve detoxed.
We sell hundreds of products that can aid in cleansing, from senna tea to charcoal capsules to good old-fashioned fiber. But if you’re looking for a program that will eliminate cravings as well as extra water weight, you might want to get a kit that contains multiple purification products. One of our most popular detox cleanse programs is the Garden of Life Perfect Cleanse Kit, an all-natural 10-day program that is used in the evening (so it won’t disturb your daytime activities.) The kit includes capsules and a powder that you can mix in water or no-sugar-added juice, which””take my word for it””definitely helps that powder go down easier! These products are filled with organic, natural ingredients such as flax seed, chia seed, cracked-wall chlorella, ginger and fennel.
Happy New Year””and happy cleansing!
