You can take a shortcut to the mall. But when it comes to baking moist chocolate cupcakes, don’t let quickness trump quality. Betty Crocker, beware! Brownies are like a blank canvas. You can add just about any ingredient imaginable — among the most popular being nuts. Since walnuts are too been-there-done-that, we’re picking pecans. The slightly crunchy crust and soft center are what make this the perfect dessert after a stressful day, intense workout or just because you can’t resist it. If you’re a peanut butter lover, forget it! You’ll be pushing family members to the ground and stepping on your dog’s tail just to get a slice of low-carb, high-protein heaven.
There’s always a birthday party or book club meeting that could use something sweet and spicy to get people talking. Bring on the ginger cookies! Really steal the show by shaping your batch with a gingerbread man cookie cutter and topping with cinnamon-swirl protein icing. Read more →
