Confidence is sexy. There’s nothing more universally true for men and women alike. Now, don’t misunderstand me, there’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance. What I’m talking about is walking with your head held high and a pep in your step. Every single one of you should be working daily to bring out your inner Bombshell. Yet, being a Bombshell doesn’t mean the same thing to every woman.
“I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge, you can see all kinds of things you can’t see from the center.”
~Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
When I teach asana at Prana Power Yoga and beyond, I talk about “playing your edge” on your mat. Sometimes students ask me what this means. Here’s a story from “real life” to capture this concept.
My dear friend is having some big-time knee issues. I won’t get into the whole history for confidentiality’s sake, but suffice it to say, my Sister’s had it rough with her knee situation.
She’s tried everything under the sun. And she is very open—so if there’s a treatment she’s heard of, she’s tried it. Yet still, no dice. The darn injury keeps resurfacing.
Quote of the Day:
“For true success ask yourself these four questions: ‘Why?’ ‘Why not?” ‘Why not me?’ and ‘Why not now?’”
– Jimmy Dean

Yes, you can!
Keep saying this mantra, “I am. I will. I can.”
And ignore your mind.
My Super-mom friend was telling me the story of how she and her 7-year-old daughter were walking out of the YMCA as a group of teenagers was walking in. They looked at her daughter and said, “Awwwwww! Look how cute she is in her gymnastics outfit! She’s so cute!”
Her daughter looked up at her Super-mom and said, “Yeah, I am cute, aren’t I?”
We had a good laugh and then talked about how kids own it. They own their cuteness. They own their joy. They own their anger. They own their divinity. Read more →
