How to Pick a Gentle Cleanser
Q. My skin seems to have taken a beating during the winter months. Now that spring is here, I am a little worried about facial cleansers because I don’t want to make matters worse. What do you recommend?
Dr. Linda Miles, D.O.M., responds
Yes, winter can definitely take its toll on skin. However, just because you may be suffering with a dry, dehydrated or irritated complexion, that does not mean you should skip the cleansing step in your skin care routine. While it is the most basic step, cleansing is key for healthy, glowing skin. Morning and night, it is essential to use a cleanser that removes dirt, impurities, sweat and makeup to unclog pores. This will leave skin healthy, less problematic and ready to gain the maximum benefits from the rest of your skin care routine.
