Being organized is one of those elusive ways of life for me, like being a Zen master or not having a Facebook account. In my constant striving for some semblance of order, I have learned to keep it simple. Whoever said “less is more” actually knew what they were talking about. When you have less stuff, it’s easier to keep track of it; that’s a given. But where do you cut back and what do you leave out?
What do first graders, seventh graders, ninth graders and college students have in common? One major need: Yummy, healthy school lunches! Whether you’re planning lunches for your little one’s very first day of elementary school or contemplating mid-day meals for your own return to graduate school, we want to make sure that you have what you need in your cupboards and fridge. Before that school bell rings, consider stocking up on…
Whether you’re trying to get something healthy into your kids’ bellies before they dash out the door to catch the school bus, or you’re attempting to feed your baby/pack his bag for daycare/take a conference call/flat-iron your hair all at the same time, one thing is certain: if you’re a mom, you need a few super-quick, healthy breakfast ideas in your back pocket.
Whether you love it or hate it, the first day of school is right around the corner. It’s time to stock up on all of the essentials to make sure you’re at peak performance level while managing the hectic schedules that come with the school year.
Whether you’ve got a 3-month-old headed for daycare, a 3 year-old starting preschool, or you kept your child home until the law required that formal schooling begin or else, you’re about to suddenly be separated from your sweet sidekick. And it’s probably going to hurt, a little bit.
Or should I say, it’s probably going to hurt you a little bit. The kids? They adapt just fine. Meanwhile, I went through quite a few tissues every time one of my baby birds left the nest.
After a full day of work, running errands and shuffling kids around, who has the time to prepare a wholesome, nutritious, non-microwaved meal? You do—that’s who! In less time than it would take for you to dial up and wait for restaurant delivery, or make it through a long fast food line, you can serve your family a fantastic meal they’ll not only love but that’s actually good for them, too.
Why is it that tummy aches always seem to happen at the worst possible times? Like when you’re out to a nice family dinner at a restaurant, on vacation, or even (ugh!) in the middle of the night? And if you’ve got a really little one—too little to explain what’s wrong—the crying can go on for hours.
