We all want it: healthy, radiant, glowing skin. But as we age, our skin can become dull, weathered and run down. There comes a time where everyone needs a little brightening. Years of sun exposure starts to reveal the detrimental effects of UV stress, which causes damage in multiple layers of the skin and ultimately diminishes our natural glow.
Q. I want to look my best for Valentine’s Day date night. What quick skin tips do you recommend?
Dr. Linda Miles D. O. M. responds:
A. Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to show your skin some love. With the right natural products, five to 10 minutes and a little TLC, you can kiss your dull, winter-weathered skin goodbye and get glowing for your special night!
Q. I usually get lazy and neglect my skin at night. I’m starting to see this bad habit take its toll. What do you recommend for a simple p.m. skincare routine?
Dr. Linda Miles D.O.M. responds:
You’ve heard it before: get your beauty sleep! And, it’s true. A good night of sleep plus a basic nighttime skincare routine is the best way to look and feel better for the long haul. I know that is easier said than done, but think of it this way: nighttime is the best time for skin to naturally repair itself back to a healthy, youthful radiance. Benefit from this restorative process, and fight that sleepy urge to ignore your skin at night, with this simple skincare routine before you hit the sack. It should take no longer than two minutes, and trust me, it’s worth it!

Q. Should I follow a different skin care regimen in the summer than I do in the winter? This humidity makes me feel like I am never truly clean!
Dr. Linda Miles L. Ac., D.O.M. responds:
Summer temperatures and humidity can cause more perspiration and oily skin, which often leads to that not-so-clean feeling. While most people think the key to summer skin care is to cleanse and cleanse and cleanse, and possibly skip the moisturizing step in order to achieve a truly clean-feeling face, resist these temptations. It will only cause unbalanced skin that can lead to more problems.
