You hit the gym daily, skipped scrumptious desserts and splurged on a few new outfits to look your best for vacation. Now that you’ve arrived at your destination, should you relax and let loose or stick with the routine that helped turn you into the beach bombshell you’ve become? The answer is: a little of both.

With the holidays behind us and long winter months ahead, many of us are looking forward to a winter vacation getaway. These days, hotels, resorts and high tourist areas are taking steps to provide greater gluten-free options than even just a few years ago, making vacations easier to plan and certainly more enjoyable.
As we packed up to leave Europe after spending most of the summer there, I was amazed, once again, at the heaviness of “stuff.”
I’m a light packer. I truly live the quote, “Live light, travel light, spread the light.”
When I think of vacation, I think of having fun and not having to worry about my day-to-day routine back home. But if going to the gym is part of your daily ritual, it might be a good idea to keep it up, even when you’re away. Here are some tips for squeezing fitness into your travel schedule:
My husband and I went away for five days and four nights. We didn’t take our kids with us. We left them at home to fend for themselves–the baby can change his own diapers, right? Just kidding. We left them with my husband’s spry and active parents, who made sure they ate their broccoli, went to museums and didn’t watch much TV.
