Many, many people take a vitamin C supplement as part of their daily routine. Although it’s mostly known for its possible role in supporting healthy immune function, vitamin C may also be beneficial in other ways.
Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble nutrient found in citrus fruits and green vegetables. It is an important antioxidant that promotes overall health. Vitamin C’s reported benefits are numerous, and they include:
• Supporting overall cardiovascular health
• Supporting healthy skin and blood vessel maintenance
• Supporting the body’s normal response to minor injury
The National Institutes of Health also report that vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron and maintaining healthy connective tissues.

VItamin C is very important for managing cataracts as research has shown that this nutrient along with Glutathione tend to be deficient in the eye lens in people with cataracts. Vitamin C is also one of the precursors to glutathione which is manufactured in the Liver.
Cineraria maritima homeopathic eyedrops have been listed in the Physician's Desk Reference Herbal Opththalmology section as a treatment of cataracts for over 25 year. New research is also showing eyedrops containing n-acetyl-carnosine helps prevent the further eroding of cataracts by acting as an anti-glycating agent (helps prevent the binding of sugar and protein molecules together in the eye lens).
