Easy Natural Remedies

From empty stomachs and excessive sweating to minor bumps and burns — whatever ails you, chances are there’s a quick & easy (natural!) fix. Let’s explore some natural solutions to common health complaints:

Bruises, Bumps & Burns:

  • Dilute lavender essential oil with water and apply to a sunburn for a soothing, relaxing sensation.
  • Instead of rubbing messy muscle cream on that sore shoulder, try a product made with all-natural arnica. Works great for bruises, too.

Perspiration:

  • Is your face feeling a bit moist? No sweat. Dab a bit of witch hazel on a cotton ball and swipe across your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. It acts as a natural astringent to leave your face feeling refreshed.
  • For perspiring pits, use a mixture of soothing aloe vera gel and cleansing tea tree oil.

Hunger:  

  • Got a rumbling tummy? Eat a handful of hazelnuts to quell that embarrassing growl – they’re packed with fiber and healthy fats to stop hunger in its tracks.
  • Sprinkle chia seeds into whatever you’re eating or drinking – they’re an excellent source of fiber and will also absorb moisture to keep you feeling fuller, longer.

    I have so many remedies that I love, I could never tell you all of them, but one that pops into my head right now is Lavender oil on my pillow right before bed helps me out with insomnia.

    L-Theanine cured my years of struggling with insomnia. It quiets my brain and puts me down for a sound sleep with no sluggishness in the morning. It’s an amino acid, instead of a drug, and my kids have even used it to help fall asleep. Also, under stressful times, it has worked to relax me, without going to sleep. Really excellent stuff.

    Eat some turkey breast that has been cooked, for late night hunger without carbs.

    My favorite natural remedy is to use Vitacost’s 100% Pure Peppermint Oil mixed into a bottle of water, and sprayed all over my home. It is a great room freshener, a repellant for all pests, and can be sprayed everywhere, even in the cabinets and drawers.

    Take two aspirin dissolved in a small glass of warm milk, and drink about half an hour before going to bed to sleep like a baby without any side effects or grogginess the next day.
